What guests notice particularly positively: at Kurumbo Lodge there are a few path lights in the dark and otherwise only stars or the moon, which visitors can experience.

About Us

Kurumbo Lodge is lovingly managed by Mrs Ria Rugge, a dedicated hostess from the Netherlands, who has made it her mission to make your stay unforgettable. Besides Ria are working seven hardworking ladies and gentlemen from Kartong for visitors and guests. A lovely breakfast is prepared and a delicious dinner can be served by the nice Kurumbo Lodge staff.

Choice of “Big House” rooms or en-suite roundhouse. See my review in March 2023….all that was good remains and now even has wifi! Ria is a wonderful kind lady who treats her Gambian co-workers with respect! The food is wonderful as always.

The authenticity continues with the building of a grass round house! Live like the Africans of old… it is as I write, almost complete! The campfire at night are just as welcoming… and the beer as cold… as last year
